I actually experinced that in 2007. My wife and I went back (this was my first time) to the Philippines to visit her family in Pampanga. We saw the lanterns and took a carriage ride in the park, and took her family to see a band! It was so exciting to be in the Phillipines! We have been back since and have a house in Iloilo.
