Atlanta and Back…

Okay today was something….if anyone of you have traveled from SC to Atlanta airport and turn right around to return to SC…. well I’ve done that trip soooooo many times….

When I was living in England, we use to come here often on our holidays to visit my Son, who lived here with his Dad (didn’t like UK much). So every year, hubby and I would come here and it would the best 2-3 weeks time as it was cheaper for us to come over…let me tell you anytime that any of you decide to travel, directly to the UK, either you leave from Charlotte, NC or Atlanta GA airports. Chas does not have any direct flights, you need to stop over there and here and everywhere to get to a complete opposite direction!

Okay, today woke up sort of late, as we were suppose to be on the road by 9am, but we got out here little after 9am….hubby knew the way by heart the quickest way to go from our house, the route looked familiar to me, but some didn’t and asked if he knew where he was going… we stopped mid-way just outside of lake oconee and had lunch at Zaxby, boy when I got out the car, me bum…was hurting!!!

We arrived at the airport plenty of time, and I couldn’t remember how the inners of the airport and tried to see if I could go in the tarmac to meet my son, but told to pay $50 for the escort…his Dad, but I figured he can read and follow signs to the baggage claim area… he’s 15 and this is his first flight back alone and i knew he could do it, but i was a bit worried, he text me that they were landing, and called when he was on his way to the baggage claim and said he was at the top of the escalator, I coudn’t see him… I should known better there are may escalator you go thru and the tram to ride ….. me … panicked and told hubby to stand by the baggage area …. called…nothing, and then it clicked… he has not really at the baggage area yet… well just when it dawned on me, here comes my son coming out…. he looked handsome as ever and taller and tanned!!!!! He’s beat me in tanning side, I’ve not been out in the sun …busy working… of course, typical teenager, showed it off and said “i beat you mom”….. hahaha….

AFter all that, we went straight to the car, paid the parking ticket, as we just missed the 1 hr free by 45 min…paid $2 for parking and proceeded towards home….we stopped to eat at Hardees in Denmark, but keep on driving while eating… we made it good time and hubby said we should be back around 10-11pm… yes he was right, i walked in the house at 1045pm after dropping my son off at this dad’s house…talked to the ex for a bit… then came home… it was a tiring day really… and its been awhile since we’ve done that and told my son, next time, fly in to Charlotte as its much closer to SC than Atlanta is….

Well everyone that is my adventure today and need to get some rest and I got another adventure for you to tell tomorrow!!
