Long Covid? Well, At Least A Long Convalescene Part 5

After a couple of months or so, I did manage to walk to the shops from the house to do a bit of shopping, my husband was worried that I would not be okay to walk and carrying a bag of shopping, so I said, that I was only going to get some small bits. I was really ready to go out of the house being stuck indoors. Hubby was working while the pandemic and I was home and couldn’t go out either. I had another 2 weeks off sick from February and my employer was there as we got paid as the government was paying the 80% of the wages. It was nice, but I knew at some point, we had to pay that back. Nothing in life is free…how do you think where the government get that money is thru paying your taxes.

Well, lets not deviate…I have been walking around my house and did venture outside a few doors from my house to around the small green and eventually did a walk around the big green in my street. There were a few people walking around just to get out the house! I met my neighbour  who also had Covid and she was just recovering herself. So my venture out to go get some bits of shopping, I was find, but it did take me awhile to get there! I walked and when I was gasping I stopped and then walk again. I got to the shops and I got some bits and walked back, the bag was not too heavy but it did take me awhile to get home and hubby called to check on me when he was free. I made it home but boy was I tired!! I was very proud of myself!! I knew I was on the road of recovery!!

I was “discharged” end of February, 2021 from the hospital and I was scheduled a follow up to check to see how I was coping. During that time, after a 2 months or so, I returned to work on March 8, 2021 – Women’s Day!! I was told that I could go back to work, but do not exert myself and just take it easy.  After going back to work, I found out that I was not myself, as I couldn’t go things quickly as I would feel dizzy and the anxiety/panic attack , I had to really slow down! All of colleagues that I work with were awesome, they would be my running legs! I am thankful and very grateful that I have survive this covid and my husband and I have had the vaccine 4x now. And when they were offering the flu shots, we took them as well. My body is slowly getting back to where it is, but there are still things that don’t think it will go away. I feel dizzy when I move too quickly, I feel very light headed and have to slowly just take deep breaths and slow down. My joints are achy which they were not. I also found out that being constant on my feet (due to my job) I found out that I have arthritis and plantar facilitis. There  are no cures for arthritis or the plantar. I have been trying to find some comfortable shoes, and the foot doctor said that I can’t wear heels.. so have to find a comfortable shoes that will support my feet.

This is my life so far, I have to deal with my feet and trying to find a suitable shoes that will support my arthritis and plantar. The ones that I found is the trainers with the support I am seeking. But that is not part of our dress code. The only way that I could wear that is get a doctor note stating that I need to wear them, if I can’t find a suitable attire for the business casual dress code for work.

All in all, thank you for reading about my life so far, and I hope that all of you didn’t lose any love ones to this covid, I did but life goes on. Also this coming weekend is the Notting Hill Carnival, so enjoy but unfortunately the buses are on strike and I will be supporting them as they need to get paid a decent pay and respect the the private companies along with TFL only care about profits and don’t care of respect the bus drivers that work all along the pandemic and get paid shit and have to go to food banks to feed their family!!

STAND TOGETHER UNITED!! UNITE we will stand!

Support these strikes, like the postal, railways workers, bus drivers, the barristers, teachers, nurses!! Price of gas/electric are going up and the bosses are raking in the profits!! Let’s take control and bring them back not a private companies but nationalised and under public ownership..
