Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II has passed away today. I was on my way home when I received a message from hubby that they queen was not feeling well. Shewas in Balmoral Castle. When I got home, dinner was ready and we were eating and I was washing the dishes when we were done and my lodger said that they queen has died!!! We were like, what?? Ian went to check on his tablet to see, and saw the news on BBC that the queen has passed away in the afternoon!! We were like shock! The Queen has reigned for 70 years!! She has left us and now Charles her son is the new King Charles III.
I only knew her since I have lived in the UK for over 20 years and now she’s gone. Her son who has been waiting the longest, is the oldest monarch to wait to take over. We are not sure how long Charles can rule as he is not young – we might expect William, his son to take over soon.
Our prayers to the Royal family, for their loss and Long Live King Charles III!
I have a question to ask, what do you think of the cost of living rising so high? What is everyone doing to keep themselves warm when the energy cost will sky rocket that is unimaginable?
We are already trying to cut down of unnecessary of using electricity, we don’t use the dryer at all, we will be hanging it on the line and the winter months, use the clothes horse to dry most of the clothes. Cooking, we try to use the air fryer or cold dinner, like sandwiches, quick, salad. I have no clue how we are going to survive, but the heating will be turned off, use only when needed!! We had a smart meter installed and it does help to check how you use your electric/gas and how much! If you don’t have it, we suggest you go for it as its the way to go in the future. Also it will help you to see what you use more of and when and how much it costed.
For those questions above, do give me your input in the comment section.. I would like to hear from everyone of what you think of the rate of the cost of living and the inflation rate… what should we do to keep in balance?
Good Afternoon, Evening, Morning to all! Wherever you are! Now, as far from the previous post of my on going recovery, I did return to work on March 8, 2021 and slowly I am recovering, and I think some of the issues I am dealing with, will have to slowly work on it. I can walk quickly, but still feel lightheaded when moving so fast, the room felt like am on spinning ride. I still can’t run fast, and when I do (like trying to run to catch a bus), I am gasping for breath, and I have to calmly breathing slowly. But no matter, I will work on it until I can be at least 95%!
Today news have that the inflation rate has risen to 12% (its also forecasted to go 18%!) – while our wages are not going up at all and on top of that, the energy bills are rising like a rocket!! And those people that sits of their asses are benefiting from the profits that is gone sky high! If they can afford to give those investors, why do we the working class people who are trying to make ends meet, how are we suppose to live and put food on the table ?
This past weekend, the bank holiday weekend it was the Notting Hill Carnival and we also had a bus strike so to get them some respect due and give them a wage that they will be able to live! I mean most of the drivers go to the food bank so that they can feed their family!! While the cost of the energy are sky rocketing, how are they going to live thru the winter time? I support these strikes and as I am also a Unite union member, I think we should all join the union to stop these greedy corporations and give the people who are doing the work to get paid a decent wage to live!
