Long Covid? Well, At Least A Long Convalescene Part 2

In continuance from the previous post… lets move a few weeks after I got home hospital and trying to get back to normal. While I was recovering at home, hubby was back to work full time and when he gets home, he took care of me…he cooked dinner, did the washing of the dishes and even the laundry! I was told not to do anything at all…when I did try oh my…my energy was none existant! Just to do laundry, walking and … I would feel like dying! And I feel bad and I apologise to hubby as I know he was still recovering himself too! I felt so bad. But, he was a champ!! Love him to bits!

In the meantime, I had to send over the sick note to my work, my doctor gave me 2 weeks off sick, then after that he would give me another 2 weeks off. So for the Month of January 2021, I was home recovering. My AM sent over a bunch of flowers when I was in Hospital and it was sent to the house, as you couldn’t get anything delivered or even to visit. I was thankful and gave him a call, it was a nice gestures, of course, I was not the only one who had covid at my work place, there were more people that had it; some not so bad as me, others just as the same as I was and they were not that bad. So, I am thankful for all the medical staff, hubby, family, friends keeping in touch. I do not wish for anyone to go thru what I went through myself, but reading from articles especially social media, it upset me to the core. I would be so angry, I would curse those people hope that they get it themselves!! But, karma will be better and so I let it be.

The whole of January was nothing really exciting happening, just that I stayed home (I was really pulling my hair) as I could not do anything without gasping for breath!! But I was determine to get too where I was before covid. It was really a very slow process to the road of recovery. Walking around the house and my next fun venture was walking around the backyard. Watched lots of telly, NETFLIX is a saviour that I missed when they came out. Also watching You Tube, lots of great vlogs of travelling, which I miss very much. I love watching this particular blogger – BecomingFilipino – its about a Canadian, who lives in the Philippines and he travels all around the islands! There are approximately 7200 islands in the Philippines and I think he only just scratch the surface. So that was my adventure in January.

Hubby just reminded me that when I was home a few days later, it snowed!! He took a picture of it from outside our house and it was really cold and all white! I really did not remember! He showed me the picture he took and it really looked cold. One of the things with getting covid, is memory loss! I still have a hard time remember things, and I would get really upset. You can forget stuff, but this is different. I don’t like it but you have to work hard to be able to return normal… or what is normal?
