It is 2021!! And we are getting ready to welcome in 2022!! I have no idea where the years went from the last posting that I’ve posted on here! I just realised that it has been a long time that I’ve even come in and posted anything interesting for you all.

To get us caught up…2020 was not a good year, it was until that COVID-19 pandemic hit us like a ton of brick! We were mostly on lockdown mode and we were making the most of it being locked indoors and we entertained ourselves up to a point! I was feeling fine really, and my hubby and I were even getting sorted for the xmas holidays. Our shop re-opened according to the government guidelines in place. Until December 31st 2020, a day I won’t forget!! I came to work to get ready for the festivities at hand, when out of the blue I was coughing uncontrollably! My colleague said get a test done (Lateral Flow) and I did…lo and behold… I got tested POSITIVE for that dreaded COVID-19!! I was feeling ok, just tired and we had to get everyone tested in the shop! (We called our AM, and the shop was closed and was in the process of disenfecting everything!) So I was sent home ASAP and got an appointment for the PCR test in the testing facility near my house. I of course, immediately called my husband to come home and meet me as we both had to be tested! To cut a long story short, we both tested positive and was self isolating for 14 days, unfortunately, I had worse than my hubby, the ambulance came to the house 3x – 1st time, they came and check me over, and was advised to drink water and moving – running up/down the stairs to get my blood oxygen up. In the meantime, hubby has been reading all about this new threat, and ordered an oximeter for us. 2nd time, they took me to hospital and I stayed overnight and was sent home the following day…I did feel better, but later that evening, I quickly was going down fast!! Hubby tried to get my up to walk around and drink water, he even ask some of colleagues to call me and encourage me to move around. My oximeter was not looking good and my blood oxygen was quickly not getting better and was going down fast!

Kathy CPAP Mask

It was at 88% – 3rd time – ambulance came, I was taken to hospital straight away, apparently I was in critical that I was given a full mask (CPAP oxygen) the doctors, said that if I didn’t improve within 48 hrs, I would have to be incubated!!! NOOOO way, I was in the room one below ICU; I was in hospital until January 21st 2021 was my release day. I saw many people die in that ward and once I was slowly got better, they slowly work on trimming my oxygen level gradually – I was moved from the ward to the recovery room with 40% oxygen up until 2% which normal oxygen through the nose.
