I totally forgot all about this tea, this is really nice and its especially nice when your feeling under the weather.  This is good for cold/flu-like symptoms and if you have a sinus this will clear it up! Its spicy but if you don’t like it to spiced, just add more water or brown sugar…I should buy more ginger and make some of these…Philippines Food & Recipes

Ginger Tea or Salabat is a common and authentic Filipino tea. This ginger tea or salabat in Tagalog is commonly served during some cold months or rainy season in the Philippines.

There are so many health benefits this salabat (ginger tea) can offer, considering this is an herbal tea. Salabat commonly helps fight or prevent cold and flu during rainy or cold season.

Also, salabat, somewhat, gives or helps out in terms of soothing your vocal chords thus, giving you a nice good voice.

 

Salabat Ginger Tea Ingredients:

* 3 cups water
* 3 tablespoons brown sugar
* 5-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and thinly sliced

How To Make Salabat Ginger Tea:

1). Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan.

2). Place the pan over high heat and bring to a boil.

3). Reduce heat to low, then simmer for 10 minutes.

4). Ladle the hot ginger tea into a coffee mug or teacup and serve immediately.

Note: If ginger tea or this salabat recipe is too spicy for you, it can be lessened by adding more water or adding more sugar as desired.
