Here are some recipes to share with all of you…tasting Filipino food is unique that it has the influences from around the world really – well we got the Spaniards of course, then the Chinese, and American cuisines. I hope that you enjoy some of the recipes and if you have any to share, please send them and I can post it here or you can register and post it yourself!

My cousin Marites sent this one and sounds yummy! It is one of many favorites in Mambajao, Camiguin.

CHICKEN SUROL

Boil and serve while hot.

De La Hoya vs Pacquiao

WOW, totally forgot about this match, but I got to read it round by round by these sports writers, it was like i was there! My Dad would have love to watch this match! Am sure he was watching up there & cheering on… 🙂

This was supposedly a dream match, and there were a lot of press about this match up – Pacquiao (don’t know who he was) but I heard it around the filipino community of people praising him…so I got curious, and saw some ads about this match, and realize that he was a filipino! Boy, we certainly do get around…I mean around the world! We are all over this earth that sometimes, it amazes me. So, how come we can’t be more forceful in regards to our own country that we all come from?

It’s a thought that we should be thinking about….but for now, here is the story of how it went down tonight for some of you that missed out (which am sure you didn’t) but here is the article that says it all round by round….the article below was written by Reid Cherner & Tom Weir

De La Hoya-Pacquiao round-by-round

USA TODAY’s J. Michael Falgoust is ringside for Saturday night’s long-awaited showdown between Oscar De La Hoya (39-5, 30 KOs) and Manny Pacquiao (47-3-2, 35 KOs) at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. It’s the sport’s pound-for-pound No. 1 fighter (Pacquiao) vs. the No. 1 box office draw (De La Hoya). After both fighters weighed in under the 147-pound limit on Friday (Pacquiao was 142; De La Hoya 145), HBO’s unofficial weight numbers tonight show Pacquiao at 148 1/2 pounds with De La Hoya at 147…Read More

Fil-Am happy of Hilary’s new post!

Fil-Am (Filipino-American) association is huge in California, if I remember correctly. I was still a teenager when this new organization was formed. Now, it might have already been formed, but I remember it strongly as there was a parade and my family made a fuss, as I was to be in a float for a parade, and in all honesty i have forgotten what it was. Think my Mom has some pics or my other relatives who were involved in this…that’s neither here or there.

The subject we are discussing is the article that JOSEPH G. LARIOSA, GMANews.TV wrote in regards to Hilary’s appointed position as Secretary Of State. Now, my question is that when they were on the road campaigning, didn’t Pres Elect Obama ridiculed Hilary’s position on some of the issues in regards to foreign politics? Then, maybe it was all planned out? You have to question these and he was asked, but Obama skirted away from it…it would have been nice if he just admit to it and moved on. But, in all honesty, I think the new cabinet he’s putting together might just get us out in a deep hole – not overnight mind you but there is alot of work to be done by this man and glad that Hilary is on board!

Here is the article….

Fil-Ams hail Hillary Clinton appointment as state secretary

CHICAGO, Illinois — Some Filipino-Americans described on Monday the nomination of Sen. Hillary Clinton as US Secretary of State as President-elect Barrack Obama’s “consistent appreciation of her public service record” and “is more than a match for Condy Rice and Collin Powell,” her two predecessors…Read More
